As part of EMCC Romania's initiative on Coaching in Different Cultures, EMCC APR was delighted to respond and collaborate on a series of events aiming to promote cultural awareness and intelligence about coaching in various Asia-Pacific countries and cultures. The collaboration fosters our global value of cultural diversity, helping us understand varied cultural perspectives, enhance our collective knowledge, develop culturally-sensitive approaches, and prepare our members to thrive in an interconnected world.

In our inaugural event, we'll dive into:

  • A brief history of EMCC Asia Pacific Region โ€“ why a region and not a country?
  • Scale and Scope โ€“ the width & depth of our cultural diversity
  • What the West can learn from the East
  • Nuance and subtitles โ€“ the influences of cultural, racial and political histories on our coaching and mentoring
  • Mapping ancient Eastern wisdom to modern western coaching concepts
  • Adapting Western norms to non-Western forms
  • A/NZ in Asia โ€“ our unique perspectives on an exciting and challenging cultural journey

The session will close with a reflective breakout, inviting participants to share insights and explore how cultural awareness can deepen their coaching practice.
