An Indigenous Coach Training Program

In Canada, several Indigenous coaches who went through more traditional coach training programs wanted to design and offer a coach training program that included more culturally safe and inclusive ways of being as a coach. So, a group of Indigenous consultants and coaches, as well as some allies, met to design an ICF Accredited Level 1 program.

This program is now offered through the First Nations Health Authority Indigenous Coach Training Program​ as part of their Wellness Programs and is about to launch Cohort 5 in September. There are now approximately 60 Indigenous coaches in Canada.
